Congratulations to Ovi for tying Crosby after the entire 12 games that were left, and to Niklaus Backstrom for taking it all in stride.

Not sure why The Hart wasn't for Tavares. John carried the team on several nights and boosted morale. Without him, The Islanders would have Matt Moulson as their scoring leader...and that's it for now. The Pens without Crosby still had Malkin, Neal, Kunitz. Caps had Backstrom, Green, Erat (after a while). John deserved it

first time in over 60 years that a rookie that lead in goals and points wasn't top 3. East coast bias (frank)s EDM players over

Definitely. If OV was such a good player to deserve the MVP, you would think that he would be capable of playing a FULL season of good hockey as opposed to half. The MVP should be JT because he brought a team to the playoffs with Matt Moulson as their second best scorer, just like you said.

How did he carry the team? 47 points, 28 goals, which was 3rd in the league. With those 28 goals, some of them had to be momentum boosters, which led them to the playoffs.

And I gotta say, I've never been into NYI before this season, but I think I found another team to enjoy. Tavares helped me realize how bright their future is.

It's not Rookie of the Last Three Games, it's rookie of the Year. Saad was nominated, but blame the "East Coast Bias" if you wish.

ahh so Ovechkin shouldn't have been nominated for sh*t because he didn't show up at the start of the year.

gotcha

Exactly. MVP should be great the whole year. And by the way, stop complaining about the east coast stuff. Maybe your just a little jealous that Isles are a couple steps ahead of the Oilers, as in making the playoffs.

He shouldn't have won the Hart, no.

Do you blame Landeskog's Calder on the Canadian West Coast Bias because a Western Conf player won the award? If you think Nuge should have won the Calder last year then you should think Crosby should have won the Hart this year, missed 1/4 of season with injury and tied for points with the actual winner.

Hall had 50P in 45GP shooting at a career low 10.4%. Was +5 on a team that was -9.

Tavares had 47P in 48GP shooting 4.5% higher than his career average. Was -2 on a team that was even.

Not at all saying Hall should have been a hart candidate, but he had a better season than Tavares and wasn't top 30 in hart voting.

? yea

Nuge had the same # of points as Landeskog in 20 less games? I accept that at least Landeskog had a great +-. Yak had as many points as Huberdeau and a better +- but was 5th in voting

Did he bring his team to the playoffs? NO. So therefore, he is not that valuable to his team

Yes. I'm so jealous of the New York Islanders of all teams. For this I am taking it out on JT. Thank you for your insight.

Also I was rooting for NYI when they were in the playoffs. I predicted they'd finish last and they made it so I owed it to them. Don't get too excited bub. Like the leafs, NYI did jacksh*t to their roster and went from 4th last to the playoffs. Wait til they play a full season before you think NYI's any good at all

Yak played with Belanger for 20 games. He's a 5th line centre.

3rd in the league in goals? The only elite player without elite line mates?
Pretty sure he carried the team
